What's "in" for me

As we're entering the season of summer i've been collecting all the little things i like to do and i will list some of them to you, hope you get something out of this!

Collecting DVD's - 2 months ago i came across my old "strawberry shortcake" DVD I used to watch EVERY. SINGLE. DAY as a kid and realised how fun it is to just grab your dvd, put it on and have the FULL movie experience. That's why not so long ago I started hunting for DVD's of my favorite movies at the nearest thrift shop. Right now, my modest collection consists of 7 dvd's that I absolutely adore. I cannot describe you the demented reaction I had when i saw "The Virgin Suicides" DVD hiding between hundreds of other films. My goal as of now is to find "The Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind", "The Wizard Of Oz" and "The Bling Ring". I'm clearly a woman of taste.

Making mixtapes - I fell back into an old addiction of mine which is making mixtapes for any situation. "chilling in my room" (but with a little twist because it's "chilling in my room in a main character in a 2013 movie" way, whatever that means), "feeling french", "rainy day", "Lana del Rey unreleased" (this one was actually necessary). I feel like my 7 year old self, sneaking into my father's office to download all the glee, musicals (especially grease), Weezer, Radiohead, The Beatles songs i could find to his computer and burn them on my CD's to listen to with him on our road trips, deeply miss those times.

Silk pyjamas - I've succumbed to the temptation, i am weak. After all these brainwashing movies about how "not cool" it is to be girly and how being a tomboy is the key to life. After refusing to be feminine all through middle school and a little of highschool, I finally woke up and chose happiness. I now consider myself a "girly" girl and wear awfully comfortable and gorgeous silk pyjamas to go to sleep. I wear pink (on wesdnesay), i wear ribbons in my hair and might even consider wearing skirts! As my bro Walter would say, i am AWAKE.

Buying books and never actually reading them - I am running out of space to store my books and realised at least 20% of them haven't been read. I have no excuse for my terrible contribution to consumerism but procrastination. I cannot bring myself to read these days and end up taking a ridiculous amount of time to finish a book. I like to tell myself i don't have the time because of school, the gym, my friends but since school is over it's just laziness. My problem is that i think finishing a book shouldn't be a goal, people who tell me they're "behind their schedule" on their TBR irritate me. It shouldn't be about finishing books as fast as you can so you can check them off a list you should be enjoying the book and enter the whole universe around it. Or maybe i'm just a slow reader.

George Harrison - George Harrison has always been in. My obsession for him continues to grow everyday and as the warmer days are officially here i'm listening to the album "All Things Must Pass" on repeat. Abbey Road is also THE summer album 4 ever.

Halo Top cookies and cream flavour - Halo Top please sponsor me. Every other day i go on a little walk to buy Halo Top at Monoprix because in France they are the only ones who sell it (i'll forever be jealous of Americans for having it all). Eventually on my way back home the ice cream has all melted because of the (almost intolerable) heated weather. But after 3 hours in the freezer it is the best creation ever made.

Devon Aoki - I cannot begin to tell you how excited i was about the "Devon Aoki Renaissance" after she had her first appearance at The Met Gala. Devon Aoki is the cool girl (amy dunne would gag). She's such an inspiration, i've been admiring her photoshoots and outfits for years now and still can't get over how cool she is. Devon Aoki you will forever be famous!

Binge watching your Letterboxd "Watchlist" - I've never been an avid user of Letterboxd but a few weeks ago i decided to lock myself in my room, choose a movie on my "Watchlist" and make it my project for the afternoon. After several days of making this hibernation my routine i decided to stop myself from turning into the narrator of my year of rest and relaxation and decided to go back to my life. My friends were starting to wonder if i died or something.

Anyway these are some of the things i enjoy at the moment, hope you liked it.

xoxo célia
